Let´s join, come in pink on 14 October!
Breast cancer is a frequently discussed topic these days. And yet, or perhaps precisely because of this, there are many women who are afraid to deal with it and regularly check their bodies, perhaps out of fear of a positive test. But this is a very risky approach.
The aim of the Pink Ribbon Day campaign is to emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular check-ups with a doctor (gynecological examinations, mammogram examinations) and, above all, regular monthly breast self-examinations, which can be carried out at home and can be done by every woman.
In order for these examinations to be effective, they need to be performed correctly. That is why the members of the ONKO-DUHA Vsetín Association, together with the students of the Secondary Medical School in Vsetín, are offering on October 14, 2022, in the morning hours on Dolní náměstí in Vsetín and on the 1st floor of the polyclinic of the Vsetín Hospital, demonstrations of breast self-examination on a mock-up.
Together with the explanation, they will give out a small gift and a leaflet with detailed instructions on how to properly perform a breast self-examination. Representatives of the General Health Insurance Company of the Czech Republic (VZP CR) will also be available to the public at the polyclinic. They will, among other things, provide measurements of BMI body values and measurements of skin hydration. Agel Diagnostické centrum s.r.o. will also present its activities here -mammographic breast examinations, which take place at its Vsetín workplace on the 3rd floor of the polyclinic of the Vsetín Hospital.

This year's edition focuses not only on breast cancer, but also on other oncological diseases, which are the most common in our population and which threaten both women and men.
Early detection of the disease can prevent its serious consequences, moreover, the probability of its complete cure increases many times. It is certainly not advisable to underestimate preventive examinations. In case of any anomaly that we notice on our body, it is appropriate to act immediately.
The information leaflet that the public will receive includes information on the recommended frequency of preventive examinations and contacts on medical facilities in Vsetín where it is possible to undergo the examination.
