Přebor Vsetína (Vsetin Championship)
On 29 June 2019, the 44th annual chess tournament “Přebor města Vsetína” (Vsetin Championship) was held at the Culture House in Vsetin. A total of 79 chess players from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Austria competed in the event, 40 of whom were younger than 18 years old. Another 5 participants were in the age group of 20 and under.
During the eight days, players competed in 9 rounds with durations of 2 x 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move.
Wallachian Youth Chess Club
The Vsetin Chess Club is run under TJ Zbrojovka Vsetin. Their management’s ambition is not to create a separate chess division, but to focus their activities as widely as possible on the youth base, meaning on all young people, both enrolled and not enrolled, without taking their chess division into consideration.
